KEPEXBOND TP - 400 For Paper Industry |
Description |
Kepexbond TP - 4000 is a specially modified (cross-link treatment) guar
gum with controlled viscosity, manufactured from highly purified
galactomannan obtained from the endosperm of guar seed. It has a unique
dispersion property followed by rapid solubility even in cold water, thus
suitable for addition in the dry state, or in dissolved form. Kepexbond TP-4000 due to the presence of effecting functional groups & its structural similarity with cellulose, results better bonding; thus providing strength in shet formation without effecting porosity of finished products. Besides its strength-enhancing properties, it also exerts a retention supporting action. The paper fillers and in particular fine fabrics are retained. |

Addition Rate |
Various factors like the pulp compositon, the degree of beating and
presence of other additives control the addition rate. Normally 0.5 to
0.7% additions of kepexbond TP - 4000 calculated on the dry fibre weight
are sufficient. Kepexbond TP- 4000 in powdered form is added to the water in the running pulper before the addition of the fibres. A lump free dispersion of the material in the beater and mixing chest is possible only under adequate stock turbulence. The swelling time should be at least 15-20 minutes. Pre-dissolved Kepexbond TP 4000 should in principal be added after fibres are beaten. It is best to add the solution either to machine chest, the overflow box, or upstream of the mixing pump. Kepexbond TP 4000 is added to cold water with adequate stirring. The solution is ready for use after a maximum of 20 minutes. Heating the solution should always be kept as low as possible & should not exceed 1% If a stock is to be stored for longer than 24 hours, the addition of a preservative is recommended. |
